I am a theater worker and scholar based between New York and Shanghai. I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Performance Studies at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, with academic training in Chinese Literature (B.A.), Comparative Literature (M.A.), and Performance Studies (M.A.).
My research explores mobility, dance, relationality, and the everyday philosophies of movement, with particular attention to how bodies, languages, and social relations take shape through performance.
Alongside my scholarly work, I maintain an active theater practice grounded in devising and collaborative performance-making. My projects have explored the encounters between sign and spoken language, domestic labor and feminism, and movement in everyday life. Across both research and practice, I am interested in how bodies and languages move, translate, gather, and generate new forms of relation.
I see scholarship and performance as interconnected ways of thinking through these questions, and I continue to develop projects that move between writing, fieldwork, and performance-making.
